SEDI LA KGANYA

SEDI LA KGANYA IS:

  • Insurance that covers a brick house or a Mokhukhu of a Kganya member of a ZCC member (Building).
  • It is insurance that also covers the things you own in your house (Contents).
  • We also give you accidental death and permanent disability cover.
  • For ZCC members in good standing.
  • Underwritten by Centriq Insurance Company Limited.

With effect 1 April 2019, the monthly Premium payable comprises the following:

  • Centriq Risk Premium: R51.84
  • KIA Commission: R17.45
  • KIA Binder Fee: R11.04
  • No Claim Bonus: R11.08
  • SASRIA: R3.59
  • Monthly Premium: R95.00 (15% VAT included)

WHAT IS THIS?

  • Insurance that covers a brick house of a Policyholder.
  • Insurance that covers the things you own in your house.
  • Kganya even pays you a claims preparation fee for when you get quotations and when you travel to your Church to hand in your claim, if your claim is accepted.
  • This insurance has a very low excess amount.
  • E.g. if you claim R5,000 and the claim is accepted, you will receive R5,000 less your excess of R300 plus your travelling costs of R500 = R5,200.
  • Insurance that covers the built shack (Mokhukhu) of a Policyholder.
  • Insurance that covers the things you own in your shack.
  • Kganya even pays you a claims preparation fee for when you get quotations and when you travel to your Church to hand in your claim, if your claim is accepted.

  • E.g if you claim R10,000 and your claim is accepted, you will receive R10,000 less your excess of R300 plus your travelling costs of R500 = R10,200.

  • Your Sedi la Kganya Premiums must be fully paid.
  • What does Accidental Death mean:
    • Death must be as a result of an accident and must not be expected by the person..
    • The injury must be visible/seen.
    • The injury must cause the death of the person.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED?

  • If you put yourself in danger in any way.
  • If you commit suicide or try to commit suicide.
  • If you hurt yourself on purpose.

WHAT IS THIS?

  • A Policyholder can cover the lives of up to 5 persons permanently living in their home.
  • Your Sedi la Kganya Premiums must be fully paid.
  • What does Permanent Disability mean:
    • The accident must not be expected by the person.
    • You must be able to see the injury.
    • The injury must cause Permanent Disability of the person and only the specified Disabilities will be covered.
    • Permanent Disability is an injury that will be there for the rest of the person’s life and there is little or no chance of it healing.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED?

  • If you put yourself in danger in any way.
  • If you try to commit suicide.
  • If you hurt yourself on purpose.
  • Injuries that are temporary or where the condition may improve.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR SEDI LA KGANYA?

  • Sedi La Kganya applications are obtainable from your Church branch.
  • You must be in good standing with your Church before you can join Sedi la Kganya.
  • Speak to your Committee Member at your Church.
  • You pay Sedi la Kganya Premiums to stay protected by us.
  • You pay these Premiums at your Church branch every month to stay insured.
  • You must make certain that the Official at your Church sticks a receipt into your Sedi la Kganya Premium Payment book for R95, when you have paid.

HOW DO I CLAIM?

  • Phone Kganya Insurance Administrators (Pty) Ltd (RF) at 0800 000 538 between 8am and 4pm Mondays to Fridays and tell them what happened. They will advise you on how to deal with your claim.
  • Please obtain at least two quotes per damaged item, in order for the lost or damaged goods to be replaced. The quotes should be to replace the damaged or stolen item with a similar product. The purpose of the insurance is to place you in exactly the same position you were before the incident, that is, not better off and not worse off. If there is lightning damage get a report from a repairer that describes the cause of damage and what repairs will cost.
  • In the case of permanent disability or death you must get written proof of the injury or death from a hospital or doctor. Please make sure that the injury that is being claimed for must result in a permanent disability and must not be an injury that will eventually heal. Please note that only specified disabilities qualify for cover under this benefit.
  • Hereafter, visit your Church committee and get a claim form. They will help you complete the document. Please ensure that your claim form is handed over to a Service Centre Manager at your nearest Service Centre or alternatively emailed directly to claimsps@kganya.co.za for prompt processing. In order to process your claim efficiently, please also notify Kganya Insurance Administrators (Pty) Ltd (RF) as soon as possible, telephonically or by way of e-mail to claimsps@kganya.co.za, to inform us that you have submitted a claim.
  • You may download a claim form by clicking on the button below. Please print the claim form and complete the necessary sections. Please ensure that the claim form is signed by your Church Committee. Thereafter, you must submit all required claim documents to your nearest Service Centre
